Privacy policy

Access and use

With your permission, MetalFriend Backup accesses selected Google Drive files and their metadata, and uses OAuth tokens to authorize access. This information is used only to back up files between Google Drive accounts you control.

Google API data is not sold or used for advertising or AI model training. MetalFriend Backup follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Processing and storage

Processing takes place on a device you control. Originals and backup copies are stored in your Google Drive accounts; authorization credentials are stored locally. Connections to Google use HTTPS. Neither this website nor a separate MetalFriend Backup backend receives your Drive files or OAuth tokens.

Service providers

Google provides authorization and Drive storage. Cloudflare hosts this website and may process request metadata, including IP addresses, browser information, and requested pages, to deliver and secure it. The website uses no analytics scripts or advertising.

Retention and your choices

Files and backup copies remain in your Drive accounts until you delete them, subject to Google's retention practices. Local credentials remain until you remove them. You can revoke authorization through your Google Account's third-party connections. Revoking access does not delete existing copies; delete unwanted files separately.
